Grant-William A., 87, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ at the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home in the early morning of Dec. 15, 2022, with his loving family around him. Bill was born in Belsano, Pa on Sept. 29, 1935, to Robert W. and Susan (Herrick) Grant. Preceded in death by his parents, sisters Mary LaMagna, Dorothy Grant, Lillian Gulakowski, Alice Lukehart, and Joan Barno, an infant brother Thomas Grant, brothers-in-law Jack Rearick, Ralph LaMagna, and James Lukehart. Bill is survived by his wife the former Betty Jones, who he married on June 30, 1962. Together they had a son William “Bill” Grant, Jr. Brothers Robert T. Grant (Bonnie Adams) and John R. (Karen) Grant. Sister Kathy Grant Rearick, sister-in-law Violet Carney, brother-in-law Jack Jones, and numerous nieces and nephews. Bill, as everyone called him enjoyed attending his Church, The First Baptist Church in Nanty Glo, with Pastor Geno and many of the church members. He had honorably served in the US Army during the Korean War. Upon his discharge from the US Army, Bill went to work at Bethlehem Steel Mills in Johnstown, working 30 years and never missed a day of work. He was a Supervisor for Blacklick Twp. for many years, because he loved his community and wanted to see the township grow. Served as a police officer for Blacklick Twp. For 22 years and was a member of the Mainline Police Association, Blacklick Twp. Bill enjoyed hunting, Christian music, and following the Pittsburg Pirates. Visitation will be Sunday 2-4 and 6-8 at Bowser Ondriezek Funeral Service and Cremation Services, Nanty Glo and Monday from 10 AM until the time of the funeral service at 11 AM, at the funeral home, Pastor Geno Bartoletti, Officiating. Interment to follow in Lloyd Cemetery, Ebensburg.
