Velma (Peach) Rodgers

Rodgers- Velma (Peach), 83, Nanty Glo, passed away March 31, 2020 at Memorial Medical Center. She was born Jan. 21, 1937 in Nanty Glo. Daughter of the late William and Harriet (Mosley) Peach. Preceded in death by husband William F. “Birdeggs” Rodgers, Jr. Brothers and sisters Elizabeth, Mamie, John, Sonny, and Dorothy. Velma is survived by Daughters Joyce Rodgers and Kathy (Christopher C.) Zamboni. Grandsons Cory (Brandi) Zamboni, Christopher R. (Vanessa) Zamboni, and Curt Zamboni. Great grandchildren Carmen and Trey. Sister of Ruth Hoover and Jane Krupa. Special brother-in-law and sister-in-law Ronald and Judy Rodgers. Member of Nanty Glo United Methodist Church. She was retired from the medical records dept. at Conemaugh Hospital. Velma loved her family and her church. Because of the public health crisis, the family will have private services. A memorial service will be held at a later date. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Massoud and Dr. Sirsikar offices, Cambria Care Center, and Palliative Care Center at Conemaugh Hospital. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Nanty Glo United Methodist Church, in Velma’s name. Bowser Ondriezek Funeral Home, Nanty Glo is in charge of the arrangements.
