Thomas O.Watson, 89, Nanty Glo, died July 2, 2013, at home. Born Feb. 12, 1924, in Nanty Glo, son of the late Oscar and Elizabeth (Emerson) Watson. Preceded in death by son, Thomas J. "Toby" Watson; grandson, Toby Watson; and sisters, Mary Jane Thomas, Clara Sharpe. Survived by wife, the former Anna Louise Boback, Nanty Glo; children, Dennis Watson, Nanty Glo; Bob (Joette) Watson, Ebensburg; Sharon (Joe) Lombardo, Wallingford; and Cindy (Paul) Jackovich, Gaithersburg, Md.; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great- grandchild; sister, Agnes Strayer, Virginia; and nieces and nephews. Member of St. Mary's Church, Nanty Glo. He was a retired coal miner and an Army veteran of World War II. Also a member of UMWA Local 1368, District 2, Ebensburg, and also served as International Board Member. Member of VFW Post 3489 and American Legion Post 619, Nanty Glo. Friends will be received from 10 a.m. Saturday at Bowser-Ondriezek Funeral Home, Nanty Glo, until the time of funeral Mass at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Church, the Rev. Father Martin A. Cingle, celebrant. Interment to follow at Holy Name Cemetery, Ebensburg. Veterans service will be conducted by the local veterans organizations. In lieu of flowers, donations may be may to any veterans organizations.
