Samuel N. Barosky

Barosky-Samuel N., 91, Mundy’s Corner and current resident of Amber Hills, Ebensburg for the past 5 years, passed away Nov. 26, 2021 at Quality Life Services Skilled Nursing and Rehab at Westmont Woods Personal Care Facility as a result of a broken hip and a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s for several years. He was born at home on the farm July 8, 1930. Son of the late Samuel and Pauline (Leginovich) Barosky, Sr. Survived by daughter Sharon Majuri and grandson Jim Majuri, with whom he previously resided. Preceded in death by his wife the former Norma “Sally” Gallagher, son Samuel K. Barosky, stepdaughter Cindy Giese, brothers Charles “Johnny” and Michael. Sisters Mary Chippo, Pauline Agresti, Anne Porter, Helen Robbins, Sophie Gagliardo, and Josephine Legarsky, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Sam was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was retired from Bethlehem Mine 31 and did construction jobs. Sam was an Army Veteran and served in the Korean War. He enjoyed spending time with his family and was an avid deer hunter in his younger days. His passion was metal detecting and searching for buried treasure. He will be greatly missed and forever loved and never forgotten. Special thank you to the staff of Amber Hills for their compassionate loving care of him and to the staff at Westmont Woods for his wonderful care. At Sam’s request there will be a private funeral service held. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Alzheimer’s Research or your local Humane Society.
