Roland T. Warzel, Jr.

Roland T. Warzel Jr., 57, Belsano, died March 16, 2016, at Cambria Care Center. Born Sept. 21, 1958, in Johnstown, to Roland Sr. and Mildred (Chernisky) Warzel. Preceded in death by father and grandparents, Charles and Anna Warzel, August and Mary Chernisky and Richard and Melda Ondriezek. Survived by children, Roland (Marion) Warzel III, Ligonier; and Kayla Warzel, Nanty Glo; grandchildren, Emily, Abby and Anna; mother, Mildred Warzel, Belsano; sister, Cynthia (Gus) Molinick, Belsano; Susan Popich, Nanty Glo; and numerous nieces and nephews. Member of St. Marys Church, Nanty Glo. Retired funeral director from Ondriezek Funeral Home and worked there until 1993. Roland was a graduate of Mount Aloysius College in 1981 and Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science in 1982 with honors. He loved to fish and was involved with Nanty Glo Little League baseball. He enjoyed listening to and watching the Pirates. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Bowser-Ondriezek Funeral Home, Nanty Glo, where a liturgical wake will be held Monday. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, the Rev. Father Leonard Voytek, celebrant. Interment to follow at St. Charles Cemetery, Twin Rocks.
