Phyllis P. (Heller) Peters

Phyllis P. (Heller) Peters of Nanty Glo, PA, passed away June 15, 2024, at Maple Heights Health and Rehab Center in Ebensburg.  She was born on December 5, 1934, in Windber, PA, and was the daughter of the late Norman and Alice (Noon) Heller.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph, with whom she celebrated 65 years of marriage, and her infant son, George. She was also preceded in death by her brothers Earl, Frank, Ira, Ralph, George, Norman, Jack, and Glenn, and her sisters Margaret, Mable, Alice June, and Betty Louise. Her sons-in-law, Dave Kovach, and Jack Keilman, also preceded her in death.

Phyllis is survived by her daughters, Kathy Keilman and Sharon, wife of Ron Bowman, and her son Joey. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jennifer (Dave) Sharp, Kerry Salvaggio (Erik), Luke (Holly) Bowman, Justin (Susie) Bowman, and Emilie (Matt) Gibbons; and her great-grandchildren, David (Ashley), Josh (Kacie), Shawn (Stephanie), Brandon, Christian (Jenna), Madison, Erik, Jake, Andrew (Janelle), Lexie, Ella (Connor), Olivia and Avery, and her great-great-grandchildren, Nora, Savannah, Oaklyn, and Maddie. Her sisters-in-law, Doris Heller, Rita Peters, Sally Peters, and Donna Hibbard, as well as her extended Keilman family and numerous nieces and nephews, also survive her.  She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Phyllis was a devoted member of the Nanty Glo Methodist Church, where she served the Lord in many capacities. She enjoyed spending time with her family, bowling, and visiting her camp in Tionesta.

For those who wish to pay their respects, visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4-8 PM at Bowser-Ondriezek Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Nanty Glo. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday at the Nanty Glo Methodist Church, with Pastor Trish Wood and Pastor John Snyder co-officiating. Interment will follow in the Westley Chapel Cemetery.
