Patricia Louise Jackens “Pat”, 84, Nanty Glo, passed away peacefully at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center on May 8, 2021. Born on January 20th, 1937 in Nanty Glo, PA. She was preceded in death by her husband William Weakland, parents Joseph and Catherine (Mahan) Jackens, brother John “Jack” Jackens, and sister Shirley Kovach. She is survived by her sister Mary Jane Crnarich, her son Joe and his wife Laura Jackens, and her grandchildren Joe, Cayleen and John Jackens. Pat was a teacher and loved education. She was a football fan and loved attending Pittsburgh Panthers and Steelers games with her family. She was a lifelong member of St. Mary’s Church. She also loved gardening and caring for her plants. She was an avid reader and member of a book club at the Nanty Glo Public Library. She enjoyed eating at Al’s Pizza and loved their pies. More than anything, Pat loved spending time with her grandchildren who called her Mamaw. She loved watching them run around her house, color, throw water balloons and eat snacks. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at Bowser Ondriezek Funeral Home, Nanty Glo, where a Wake Service will be held. Funeral Mass will be Thursday, 11 AM at St. Mary’s Church, Nanty Glo, Fr. Leonard Voytek, the Celebrant. Interment to follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
