Orville J. Orv Gongloff, 87, Nanty Glo, died Nov. 18, 2015, at Memorial Medical Center. Born July 3, 1928, in Nanty Glo, son of the late Grant and Edith (Gardner) Gongloff. Preceded in death by sisters, Mary Gongloff, Elizabeth Ronk, Virginia Ondriezek and Ruth Hayes, and brothers, Lloyd, Ray, Grant, Charles and John. Survived by wife of 64 years, former Grace Lokos, Nanty Glo; children, Linda (Dennis) Gagnon, California; Patricia Gongloff, Frederick, Md.; James (Joyce) Gongloff, Tennessee; David (Sherry) Gongloff, Nanty Glo; and Valerie Clemons, Frederick, Md., and grandchildren, Brittany (Sean) Snedegar, Joseph Gongloff, Rebecca Gongloff and Matthew Clemons. Also many nieces and nephews. Orv was the last surviving member of 10 siblings. Member of St. Marys Church, Nanty Glo, where he was an usher. Retired coal miner. Member of the UMWA Local 1386. Orv was an avid fisherman and hunter and was a great gardener and loved sitting at his picnic table feeding the chipmunks. He adored spending time with his grandchildren. He loved to pitch horseshoes, and on July 5, 2000, he threw a perfect game. He loved playing baseball and was a member of the Revloc Old Timers League. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Bowser-Ondriezek Funeral Home, Nanty Glo, where liturgical wake will be held Tuesday. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Marys Church, Nanty Glo, the Rev. Father Leonard Voytek, celebrant. Interment, St. Marys Cemetery.
