Michael J Kowal III

Michael J. Kowal III peacefully passed away on August 25, 2024. Born on July 15, 1942, Mike was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather to a family that he adored.

Mike served in the military and was honorably discharged in 1966. He graduated from St. Francis College in 1971 with a Bachelor of Science Degree. He met and married Linda Carney and spent fifty-three happy years together. They raised their three children, Jennifer, Laura, and Michael Joseph Kowal, IV, in Ellicott City, MD. Mike established a fulfilling career as a Certified Public Accountant at the Social Security Administration in Baltimore, MD, and had the honor of graduating from the Federal Law Enforcement Training Program as a Criminal Investigator in 1997. He retired in 2001 and enjoyed his life with Linda in Blairsville, PA, and later Westminster, MD, where he continued to work as a Background Investigator.

Mike was always surrounded by his family and closest friends and truly cherished the time he spent with his loved ones. He enjoyed playing his accordion and keyboard, singing and dancing, while raising a toast to a good time spent together.

Mike is survived by his wife, Linda, daughters, Jennifer Ramey (Chris), Laura Faya (Brian) and son Michael Kowal, IV (Ellen). Lovingly known as Dede to his eight grandchildren he was so proud of; Tyler, Brandon, Sam, Lindsay, Jacob, Michael Joseph Kowal V (MJ), Brady and Amelia and his loving sisters and brothers-in-law; Natalie Wells (Bob) Mary Malcotti (Tom), Helen Kowal, Barbara Oblinksy and his many nieces, nephews and extended family.
