Mary Denise (Mcdermott) Milchak

Mary Denise (McDermott) Milchak, 75, Nanty Glo and Daytona Beach, Fla., died May 7, 2012, at Good Samaritan Pallative Care. Born Aug. 3, 1936, in Nanty Glo, daughter of the late Vincent "Bones" and Hazel (Hoskins) McDermott. Preceded in death by husband, John B. "Jack" Milchak; sister, Marlene McDermott; brother, Jimmy; and infant brother, Gerald. Survived by daughter, Cheryl Carpenter, New Smyrna Beach, Fla.; son, Dana (Diana), Daytona Beach, Fla.; grandchildren, Nicole Marie Milchak, New Orleans, La.; Joseph A Carpenter Jr., Clearwater, Fla.; Natalie Sarah Milchak, Daytona Beach, Fla.; and Molly Abigail Milchak, Daytona Beach, Fla.; sisters, Peggy Jo Anderson, Florida; Carol McDermott, Mineral Point; and Kathleen (McDermott) Bernotas, Pittsburgh; and aunt, Gladys Trainor, Covingtree, R.I. Member of St. Mary's Church, Nanty Glo; Legion of Mary; and the Altar and Rosary Society. Denise was a beautiful and kind-hearted woman. A devout Catholic, a beloved mother, grandmother and a best friend. She touched all of those who where fortunate to be a part of her life with her love, wisdom, strength and humor. She will live on in our hearts and memories for time eternal. So may she dance among the angels now and may her Irish eyes shine on forever. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Bowser-Ondriezek Funeral Home, Nanty Glo, where liturgical wake will be held.
