Mark Alan Luther, 66, Dundalk, Maryland, formerly Nanty Glo, PAwent to be with the Lord on December 13, 2024, at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, Baltimore, MD after a lengthy battle with cancer Born in Johnstown, PA, son of the late Howard C. Luther Sr. and Mary A. (Palmonari) Luther. Preceded in death by, parents and brother, Howard C. Luther Jr.
Survived by wife of 37 years, Carolyn (Paul) Luther; sister, Leanne (Henry) Miller, Bluff City, TN; Niece, Lauren Miller (Tom Dube), Queens, NY; Nephew, Matthew (Victoria Cox) Miller, Knoxville, TN, Great Nephew, Miles Miller, Knoxville, TN. Brother-in-law, Michael Paul (Eileen Hoover), Irwin, PA; Niece, Breann Paul (Luke) Feldner, Irwin, PA, Great Nephew, Jacob Feldner; Nephew, Andrew (Meghan Obusek) Paul, Irwin, PA, Great Nephew, Milo Paul; Nephew, Joseph Paul, Irwin, PA.
He retired from Operations Maintenance at Consol Energy after 25 years of service.
Mark was a loving husband who liked to have fun. He also cared deeply for his Baltimore and Pennsylvania family of friends who he loved and treated them as if they were his own family and had a smile as big as his heart.
He enjoyed camping and friendships made at Shady Maple Campground, Raystown Lake, hunting, fishing, water skiing and gardening.
Special thanks to all the friends who reached out with encouraging words or a laugh with Mark during his lengthy illness, this meant so much to him.
Thank you to all the Physicians, Nurses, Care Associates, Physical and Occupational Therapists who not only provided outstanding care, and became our hospital family during his long hospital stays.
The family will receive friends Thursday, Dec.19 from 3pm-6:30 pm at Bowser-Ondriezek Funeral Home, 1102 Cardiff Road, Nanty Glo, PA. 15943
Funeral Mass will be held Friday, Dec. 20 at 10am at St. Mary’s Church, Nanty Glo, the
Rev. Father Kevin Queally, TOR, celebrant. Committal to follow Mass at Holy Name Mausoleum and Cemetery, West High St., Ebensburg, PA 15931.
