Madeline C. Martinazzi

“The Rain Came, Wind Blew but I have built my house on you.” Madeline Carol (Swartz) Martinazzi built her entire life, her family, and her home on the firm foundation of Christ and because of this she entered eternal life unafraid. Having Christ enter her life in the embrace of her childhood church, the Christian Missionary Alliance, she grew to know and love Jesus as her Personal Savior, and her love for this little church never ceased. Upon marrying her beloved husband Robert Martinazzi, she diligently studied the Catholic Faith and found the incredible gift of the Eucharist. Encountering Jesus at the Altar forever changed her life and because of this her and Robert faithfully raised their three beautiful children in the Catholic Tradition. Madeline Martinazzi is survived by her husband Robert Martinazzi, daughters Maria (Jeff) Lauer, Amy (Bill) Kanich, and daughter – in- law Allison Martinazzi. She joined her son Robert Martinazzi II in the heavenly courts and to be reunited with him, we are confident, will be the second greatest joy of eternal life, with the first being that of meeting her Lord and Savior. Madeline has been blessed with twelve grand – children who were her greatest treasures, all of whom stayed by her side as she drew her last earthly breaths. Her grandchildren are Donald (Stephanie) Lauer, Will (Corrin) Kanich, Geno Lauer, Noah (Ashlee) Kanich, Emily Martinazzi, Samuel Lauer, Christian Kanich, Robert Martinazzi III, Madeline Lauer, Anthony Lauer, Grace Lauer, and Annalise Kanich. She was also incredibly blessed to love and be loved by her great – grandbaby Lottie Kanich. Madeline was a special mom and abuela to Doraliz Chollet Rochin and Raoul André Chollet Rochin of La Paz, Mexico. Madeline was known for her unmatchable hospitality in her peaceful home on Country Road which she and her husband built on the hillside of Nanty – Glo. Her home was a refuge for many, an epitome of grace, beauty, love, encapsulated with faith which captured the true essence of her very heart and entire being. Although, unimaginably blessed in this earthly life, she never believed in holding too tightly to earthly treasures. She believed that you never truly owned anything, until you have the power to give it away and share it with others and that she did. When she found out that her days were shorten unbelievable, she stated, “Although I do not want to leave my beautiful family, I cannot ask the Lord for any more days, for I have lived a wonderful, wonderful life. God has been so, so good to me!” Visitation will be held on Thursday March 6 from 2-6 at Bowser – Ondriezek Funeral Home, in Nanty Glo, with a Mass of Christian Burial being held at 10am, Friday, March 7, Saint Mary’s Church in Nanty Glo. Memorial Contributions can be shared with the Matthew 25 Project, a ministry that seeks to love, feed and clothe the good people of Nanty Glo, c/o Christian Alliance Church, 1155 Roberts Street, Nanty Glo, PA 15943. Madeline’s favorite quote to her family was, “Is that who you say you are?” A gentle reminder to always make sure your heart, mind, words, and actions reflect the mercy, love and goodness of God. No exceptions allowed!” Well, Done, Good and Faithful Servant, Welcome Home.
