Michelbacher-Luke, 69, Nanty Glo, passed away Aug. 6, 2021 at home. He was born Dec. 31, 1951 in Johnstown. Son of the late Carl and Aileen (Huth) Michelbacher. Preceded in death by his wife, Helen Kowal Michelbacher, sister, Margaret Bookman. Luke is survived by daughter Mariel (Jared Garver), granddaughter Iris Garver, stepchildren Danielle (Greg) Parana, Gretchen (Ryan) Martin, Jimmy Hallahan and step-grandchildren; siblings Fred, Carl (Barbara), and Mary Beth (David) Lasinsky; close nephew Nick Oblinsky, cousin Dan Dusza, special friend Artie Barzdo, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Luke served in the U.S. Army in Germany during the Vietnam War era. He worked as a banker, correction’s officer, and as a rehabilitation counselor. Luke enjoyed trap shooting at the Twin Rocks Sportsman’s Club, archery, baseball, and blues, and rock and roll music. Luke was a very fun-loving individual and marched to the beat of his own drum. Family and friends will be received at the Bowser Ondriezek Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of Memorial Service at 6:00 p.m. Veterans Services will be held by the Nanty Glo, Twin Rocks, and Vintondale Ritual Team.
