Leta (James)Whinne, 90, Nanty Glo, died April 9, 2014, at Memorial Medical Center. Born Dec. 20, 1923, in Nanty Glo, daughter of the late Ross and Hannah (Grove) James. Preceded in death by husband, John R.; daughter, Carol Bucca; and three brothers. Survived by son, Tom (Barbara) Whinnie, Nanty Glo; grandchildren, Tom (Debra) Whinnie, Belsano; and Ted (Barbara) Mackanick, Nanty Glo; great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Tianna, Maria and Jesse Machanick; and Thomas and Jake Whinnie; and sister, Elvira Owatt, Ebensburg. Member of first Baptist Church, Nanty Glo. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Bowser-Ondriezek Funeral Home, Nanty Glo, the Rev. Geno Bartoletti, officiating.
