John Stossel

John Stossel, 86, Twin Rocks, died May 25, 2012, at Memorial Medical Center. Born July 24, 1925, in Twin Rocks, son of the late Joseph and Mary (Stock) Stossel. Preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Michael, Joseph, Mary Charney and Anna Smartz. Survived by sisters, Rose Marie Folga, Erie; Helen Varljen, Richmond, Va.; and Margaret Saxman, York, and many nieces and nephews. Member of St. Marys Church, Nanty Glo, and the former SS. Timothy & Mark Church, Twin Rocks. Retired coal miner and from General Motors. Member of Twin Rocks VFW Post 7605; Nanty Glo American Legion Post 619; Moose Lodge 207, Nanty Glo; Nanty Glo Polish Club; and the Blue Goose Sportsmans Club. Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Bowser-Ondriezek Funeral Home, Nanty Glo, where liturgical wake will be held Monday. Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Marys Church, the Rev. Father Martin A. Cingle, celebrant. Interment, St. Charles Cemetery. Veterans service will be conducted by local veterans organizations. Send condolences and order flowers at
