John Martin Soltis

John Martin Soltis, 78, Nanty Glo, died Nov. 6, 2011, at Cambria Care Center. Born Nov. 17, 1932, in Nanty Glo, son of the late Albert J. and Anna (Sholtis) Soltis. Preceded in death by brothers, Joe, George, Francis and Albert; sisters, Margaret McDonnell, Claire Brousseau and Wilma McGrath; and special friend, DelRose Yannitelli. Survived by sister-in-law, Betty Soltis, Nanty Glo; special nephew and caregiver, Bill McDonnell; and numerous nieces and nephews. Member of St. Mary's Church, Nanty Glo. Retired care aide from the Ebensburg State School. Army veteran of the Korean War. Member of Nanty Glo VFW Post 3489. Friends received from 9 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Thursday at Bowser-Ondriezek Funeral Home, Nanty Glo, Deacon James Janosik. Interment to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Nanty Glo. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mary's Church. Veterans service will be conducted by the local veterans organizations.
