Jay Thomas Dino

Dino-Jay Thomas, 74, Belsano, passed away peacefully on his favorite couch, surrounded by family, on March 16, 2022, after a valiant yearlong battle with cancer. Born May 5, 1947, he was the son of the late Louis and Edith (Hudspeth) Dino. Preceded in death by brothers Larry, Louie, Jr., and Jimmy. Jay is survived by his wife Georgina (Zeglen) Dino, daughter Nikki “Pooh” Dino, daughter and son-in-law Tiffany “Doodles”(Sam) Higuchi. Grandchildren Austin “Neenee”, Hudson “Munchy”, and Harper “Queenie". Sisters Rose Ann Mikesic and husband Steve and Lois Dino and husband Ben Epstein. Cousin and best friend Larry Dino. Jay, a US Army Veteran, served during the Vietnam War and in Germany. He was a graduate of Nanty Glo-Vintondale High School and St. Francis University. He never missed a day of school from grades K-12. He retired as a lieutenant from SCI Forest. Owner of The Grove since 1978. Jay always said his best accomplishments were his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed going to casinos with his wife, Georgina, Peg Hancherick, and Larry Dino. Family will receive friends on Sunday, from 2PM; Memorial Service begins at 3PM at the Bowser Ondriezek Funeral Home, Nanty Glo. Deacon Tom Buige is Celebrant.
