Walker-James R.,73, Nanty Glo, went home to be with the Lord after a short battle with cancer on Aug. 13, 2021. Son of the late William R. Walker and Irene (Fetters) Smithson. Preceded in death by infant sons Bryan and David, and son James, Jr. James is survived by his wife of 55 years Judy (Cramer) Walker. Children Christine (Roger) Teeter, Joseph (Shannon) Walker, Leigh Ann (Scott) Walk, daughter-in-law Tracy Walker, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and step great grandchildren. Brother William (Alicia) Walker and sister Judith Bernat (EJ). Former member of the Nanty Glo United Methodist Church, where he served as a Deacon. James served as a drill sergeant in the US Army and earned a Purple Heart during the Vietnam War. He was an active member of the Nanty Glo American Legion, Post #619. He enjoyed dancing and spending time with his family. Jim will be greatly missed by family and friends. Family and friends will be received Tuesday at the Bowser Ondriezek Funeral, Nanty Glo, from 5PM until the time of Memorial Service at 7PM. Veterans Services will be conducted by the Nanty Glo, Twin Rocks, and Vintondale Ritual Team.
