Zelinsky- George, 93, Nanty Glo, passed away Dec. 13, 2019 at Memorial Medical Center. He was born Feb. 4, 1926 in Nanty Glo. He is the son of the late Joseph and Catherine Zelinsky. Preceded in death by his wife Mary (Scott) Zelinsky and brothers and sisters. George is survived by his children George (Ellen) Zelinsky, Agnes (John) Tanish, Catherine (Lamonte) Donnelly, Stephanie (Zelinsky) Kovach, and Mary Tomacruz. Grandchildren Scott Zelinsky, Benjamin Zelinsky, Megan Zelinsky, Monica (Tanish) Dice, Dr. Ann Marie (Tanish) Lago, John Tanish, Dr. Kimberly Tanish, Renee Lawless, Matthew Donnelly, Alexis Tomacruz, Hope, Tomacruz, and Brooke Tomacruz, and 16 great grandchildren. George was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Member of St. Mary’s Church and St. Nicholas Byzantine Church, Nanty Glo. Retired from the steel mills after 40 years. He was a Navy Veteran serving in WWII, serving on the USS Iowa, where they signed the treaty to end the war. George was a great and loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather, we will carry him in our hearts forever. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at Bowser Ondriezek Funeral Home, Nanty Glo, where Liturgical Wake Service will be held. Funeral Mass will be Thursday 10 AM at St. Mary’s Church, Fr. Leonard Voytek, the Celebrant. Interment to follow in Holy Name Cemetery, Ebensburg.
