Born June 4, 1917, in Houtzdale, daughter of the late Gust and Anna (Remick) Cassick. Preceded in death by husband, Russell; sisters, Emma Sherry and Lucille Fritz; brothers, George, Edward and Ernest; and son-in-law, Thomas Smith. Survived by children, Bernice Lekawa, Texas; Patricia (Jesse) Lycans, Arizona; Yvonne Smith, Hanover; Joan (Rubin) Adams, Erie; Phyllis (Anson) Glavach, West Alexander; and Irene (Raymond) McGough, Nanty Glo; 21 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; 19 great-great-grandchildren; and sisters, Irene Chewe, New Jersey; Ester Sinclair and Bertha Maldet, both of Johnstown; and Frances Beanut, Ebensburg. Member of Nanty Glo First Baptist Church. Retired sewing machine operator from Bestform. Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Bowser-Ondriezek Funeral Home, Nanty Glo, where service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Pastor Geno Bartoletti. Interment, Bethel Cemetery.
