Waldron-Dorothy A. “Dot” (Bracken), 95, Nanty Glo, passed away Jan. 6, 2021 at Cambridge Ebensburg. She was born Oct. 3, 1925 to Jess and Emma (Anderson) Bracken. Preceded in death by parents, husband of 65 years William “Russ” Waldron, son James “Frex” Waldron, daughters Dorothy “Dolly” Kozlovak and Deborah O’Farrell, Sons-in-law Fred O’Farrell and Roger Holby, grandson Shane Price, great grandson Zayne Fatula, step grandchildren Ryan and Cory Byich, siblings Clarence, George, Everett, Evelyn Abernathy, Ralph, Mildred Hicks, Paul, Donald, Jesse Merle, and Robert. Dorothy is survived by children Diane Holby, Joyce (Jeff) Price, and Jack (Lisa) Waldron, daughter-in-law Kathleen Waldron, son-in-law William Kozlovac. 17 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. Siblings James, Emmogene George and Shirley Kozlovac, and in-laws Joan Bracken and Robert Myers. Dorothy led an active life, enjoying and being active in her family, her community, and her church. She sold Avon, was an aide at the Ebensburg Center, became a Licensed Practical Nurse and worked Lee hospital Pediatric Unit. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Nanty Glo, where she was on the Altar Rosary Society and Parish Counsel. Member of The Woman’s Democrat Club, Cambria County Election Board, Past President of the Nanty Glo Fire Ladies, Cambria County Fireladies Auxiliary and Lioness Club. Dot also was a member of Crime Watch, Community Center, Senior Citizens of Nanty Glo and Belsano, PTA, Friends of the Library, Women’s Machine Bowling League, and was a volunteer for the American Red Cross blood drives. Dot loved flowers and sewing, she made over 300 quilts for Family and friends Visitation will be Sunday, 2-6 PM at Bowser Ondriezek Funeral Home, Nanty Glo, where Liturgical Wake Service will be held. Funeral Mass will be Monday, at St. Mary’s Church at 11 AM, Fr. Leonard Voytek, the Celebrant. Mask are required for all those that attend the mass. Interment to follow in Belsano United Brethren Cemetery. Dot’s family would like to thank Dr. Michaeleen Wilson, Pope John Paul Manor, and Cambridge Ebensburg. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mary’s Church.
