Donna Marie Sybert, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on Oct. 25, 2023, surrounded by loved ones. She was born on September 26, 1948, and her journey through life was marked by her unwavering dedication to her family and her adventurous spirit. Donna is survived by her devoted husband, William J. Sybert Sr., and their three cherished sons, William J. Sybert Jr. (Wendy), Jeffrey A. Sybert (Colleen), and Michael Sybert (Dana). Donna's heart was filled with the love of her eight adored grandchildren: Gabrielle, Jacob, Nicholas, Max, Kaitlyn, Alexa, Samantha, and Serena. Donna and Bill shared a remarkable bond, having been married for 55 wonderful years. Their love and commitment to each other served as an inspiration to all who were fortunate enough to know them. Donna's life was dedicated to the pursuit of knowledge and the nurturing of young minds. She began her career as an elementary school teacher, where she imparted the gift of education to countless children. Her passion for teaching led her on a journey that eventually saw her become a school principal, a role where she continued to shape the lives of both students and colleagues. Donna's family was at the center of her life. She had a special talent for cooking and baking, and she delighted in preparing delicious food for her loved ones, especially during holidays and special occasions. Her kitchen was a place of warmth and joy, where family and friends gathered. In addition to her love for cooking, Donna had a deep affection for spending time with her family. Whether it was a gathering around the dining table, celebrating birthdays, or vacations at the beach, Donna cherished every moment she spent with her loved ones. She and Bill also shared a passion for travel, exploring various destinations around the world, and creating lasting memories together. Donna's memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. She will be remembered for her kindness and her zest for life. Her legacy of love and togetherness will continue to inspire those who knew her. The Sybert family invites friends and loved ones to join them in a celebration of Donna's life, Sunday, from 2-6 PM at Bowser Ondriezek Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Nanty Glo. Funeral Mass will be Monday, 10 AM, at St. Mary’s Church, Nanty Glo, Fr. Leonard Voytek, the Celebrant. Interment to follow on St. Mary’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Donna's memory to Gateway Hospice, 9380 McKnight Rd, Suite 201, Pittsburgh, Pa. 15237.
