Donald R. "Hoot" Gibson

Gibson-Donald R. "Hoot", 86, Centerville, Va, formerly of Nanty Glo, passed away Jan. 11, 2019 at Rebekah Manor, Northern Cambria. He was born on July 28, 1932 in Nanty Glo. Son of the late William and Bertha (Divido) Gibson, Sr. Preceded in death by brother William Gibson, Jr. and brother-in-law Joseph DiPaola. Don is survived by his wife the former Paula Warynovich; Sons Greg (Cheryl), Jon (Jay), and Corey (Laura). Grandchildren Taylor, Zachary, Brady, and Cole. Brother of Carl (Ruth Ann) Gibson, Bob (Louise) Gibson, Linda DiPaola, and Sally (Tony) Warynovich. Numerous nieces and nephews. Member of St. Timothy Catholic Church, Chantilly, Va. He was retired from the Federal Government. Don was an army veteran serving in the Korean War. He was a member and one of the founders of the former VFW Post in Chantilly, Va. Family and friends will be received at the Bowser Ondriezek Funeral Home, Nanty Glo, Saturday, from 12 PM until 2PM. Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery. Military services will be conducted by the Nanty Glo, Twin Rocks, and Vintondale Ritual Team.
