Daniel W. Shilling

Daniel W. Shilling, 87, Vintondale, died Dec. 23, 2013, at the home of his son in Twin Rocks. Born March 11, 1926, in Camerons Bottom, son of the late Joseph and Kitty (Marsh) Shilling. Preceded in death by children, Joseph and Tina; brothers, Jim and Fred; and sisters, Nellie, Lilly, Daisy and Tessie. Surviving are his children, Daniel Shilling Jr., Twin Rocks; Gary (Patti) Shilling, Vintondale; Richard Shilling, Nanty Glo; and Mary Ann Shilling, Vintondale; grandchildren, Scotty and Daynia Shilling, Robert Cook, Jessica Little and Shane Martin; and seven great-grandchildren. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was a retired coal miner. Member of VFW Post 155, Vintondale, and UMWA Local 1386, Nanty Glo. Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 2 p.m. Friday at Bowser-Ondriezek Funeral Home, Nanty Glo. Interment to follow at Lloyd Cemetery, Ebensburg.
