Daniel J. Leonard

Leonard-Daniel J., DPM, 85, Nanty Glo, passed away Oct. 15, 2021 at Arbutus Park Manor. He was born March 16, 1936, the night of the Johnstown Flood. Son of the late Daniel J. and Catherine (Sybert) Leonard, Sr. Preceded in death by his wife Carole (Austin) Leonard, with whom he is finally re-united. He is survived by children Carole (R. Timothy) Kakabar, Daniel J. Leonard, MD, Rita (Michael) Linus, Maria (Dave) Cook, and Neil (Jessica) Leonard. Grandchildren Rachel and Taylor Linus, Matthew and Carly Cook, Sidney Kakabar, and Samantha and Nathan Leonard. Sister Sally Shuman. Member of St. Mary’s Church, Nanty Glo. He was stationed in Korea from 1959-1960 in the 121st EVAC Hospital as a Corp Medic. Dad worked at the former Conemaugh Valley Memorial Hospital as a podiatrist, then as a Physician and supervisor of physical therapy at the Cresson Center and State School and Altoona Center, and the Ebensburg Center. Daniel spent his life’s work caring for the health and welfare of others. He was dedicated to his family and is very proud of his children. Private viewing and funeral mass will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Mary’s Church, 1020 Caroline St., Nanty Glo, Pa 15943 or Arbutus Park Manor Benevolent Fund, 207 Ottawa St., Johnstown, Pa 15904.
