Barbara A. A. (Frank) Simmons

Simmons- Barbara A. (Frank), 77, Nanty Glo, passed away Dec. 11, 2021 at Indiana Regional Medical Center. She was born Oct. 16, 1944 in Blacklick Twp. Daughter of the late Carl and Nellie (Hill) Frank-Gay, and step-father Woodrow Gay. Preceded in death by brothers Donald (Eleanor) Frank and Robert Frank. She is the last surviving member of her immediate family. Barbara is survived by husband of 58 years, Jim Simmons, children John (Beth) Simmons, Roanoke, Va; Jeffery Simmons (Bobbi Harris), Nanty Glo, and Jamie (Steve) Szymusiak, Nanty Glo. Grandchildren Courtney (Aaron Ingraham), Zach, and Kyle (Arika) Simmons; Jessica (Christopher Evans), Cody, and Corey Simmons; Brandon, Kristin, and Nate Szymusiak. Sister-in-law Shirley Frank. Member of the Church of the Nazarene, Nanty Glo, where she served many years as church secretary/treasurer. Life member of the Nanty Glo Fire Ladies Auxiliary. Barbara loved the beach, her dog, Chloe and was known as the babysitter for all the children in the C & I neighborhood. Family will receive friends at the Bowser Ondriezek Funeral Home, Nanty Glo, Friday, from 4PM until the time of the Memorial Service at 6PM at the Church of the Nazarene, Nanty Glo. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Church of the Nazarene, Nanty Glo or the Nanty Glo Fire Dept
