Anna Elizabeth (Stossel) Smartz The Tribune-Democrat NANTY GLO - SMARTZ - Anna Elizabeth (Stossel), 88, Nanty Glo, died Aug. 31, 2011, at Memorial Medical Center. Born Jan. 7, 1923, in Twin Rocks, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Stock) Stossel. Preceded in death by husband, John; brothers, Mike and Joe; and sister, Mary Charney. Survived by sisters, Rose Marie Folga, Erie; Helen Varljen, Richmond, Va.; and Marge Saxman, York; brother, John, Twin Rocks; and numerous nieces and nephews. Member of the former SS. Timothy & Mark Church and St. Marys Church. Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Bowser-Ondriezek Funeral Home, Nanty Glo, where liturgical wake will be held Friday. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Marys Church, Nanty Glo, the Rev. Father Martin A. Cingle, celebrant. Interment to follow at St. Marys Cemetery
